General Kayani visited CMH

The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani visited Combined Military Hospital (CMH) Rawalpindi. COAS inquired about the health and well being of wounded soldiers of Operation Janbaz. He appreciated their performance and high morale.

سیاسی جماعتوں اور مکاتب فکر کے لوگ ملک دشمن قوتوں کے عزائم ناکام بنا دیں۔ صدر اسلام آباد ۔ 7جون (اے پی پی) صدر آصف علی زرداری نے کراچی میں شہریوں کے قتل کے متعدد واقعات کی شدید مذمت کرتے ہوئے صوبائی حکومت کو ان کی فوری تحقیقات اور ایسے واقعات کی روک تھام کیلئے کارروائی کی ہدایت کی ہے۔ اتوار کو یہاں جاری بیان میں صدر نے کہا کہ ملک کی موجودہ صورتحال اس بات کی متقاضی ہے کہ تمام مکاتب فکر اور سیاسی جماعتوں سے تعلق رکھنے والے شہری باہمی اتحاد، ہم آہنگی اور تعاون کو مزید فروغ دے کر ملک دشمن قوتوں کے عزائم ناکام بنا دیں۔

Arms smuggler arrested in Karachi

The Crime Investigation Department (CID) Investigation Unit has busted a network of arms smugglers and has recovered a big cache of illegal arms and ammunitions. This is the second biggest recovery of arms made by the CID Investigation Unit in the month of January. Provincial Police Officer (PPO) Sindh, Sultan Salahuddin Babar Khattak, has rewarded the team with Rs0.5 million. SSP CID Investigation Aslam Khan addressing a press conference at the CID Head Office said that he received information that another network of arms smuggler was present in the city and was hiding in Banaras with a huge quantity of arms. Acting on the information he directed his patrolling officer Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Aleem Lashari to conduct a raid. The CID police cordoned off the area near Valika, Banaras, and SITE Town and after a brief encounter arrested Mohammed Arshad alias Mohammed Rashid with his taxi (JN-6044) and also recovered arms and ammunition. President Bush calls Zardari, Manmohan Singh: Pakistan, India agree to hold down tensions

CRAWFORD/ISLAMABAD: US President George W Bush called President Asif Ali Zardari and Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Wednesday and all sides agreed on the need to avoid any action that would increase tensions. According to White House spokesman Gordon Johndroe, Bush “called Prime Minister Singh of India and separately President Zardari of Pakistan. President Bush urged both...to cooperate with each other in the Mumbai attack investigation as well as on counter-terrorism in general. “All three leaders from the United States, India and Pakistan agreed that no one wanted to take any steps that unnecessarily raise tensions,” Johndroe stressed.
