The Crime Investigation Department (CID) Investigation Unit has busted a network of arms smugglers and has recovered a big cache of illegal arms and ammunitions. This is the second biggest recovery of arms made by the CID Investigation Unit in the month of January. Provincial Police Officer (PPO) Sindh, Sultan Salahuddin Babar Khattak, has rewarded the team with Rs0.5 million. SSP CID Investigation Aslam Khan addressing a press conference at the CID Head Office said that he received information that another network of arms smuggler was present in the city and was hiding in Banaras with a huge quantity of arms. Acting on the information he directed his patrolling officer Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Aleem Lashari to conduct a raid. The CID police cordoned off the area near Valika, Banaras, and SITE Town and after a brief encounter arrested Mohammed Arshad alias Mohammed Rashid with his taxi (JN-6044) and also recovered arms and ammunition.
